Market Commentary

 

17-Feb-12 :Gilt prices moved up slightly as central bank's open market purchase of government securities created replacement demand in the market. The government issued 12,000 Cr of securities in today's auction while central bank bought back close to 9680 Cr from the markets. The benchmark 8.79% 2021 bond closed at 103.98 (8.19%) up 8 paise from yesterday's close. Swap rates moved up 2-3 bps as global markets remained in risk on mode.
